In addition, it has been hard for her to eat because she suffers from dry mouth and difficulty in swallowing. She also has complained of dizziness and problems with balance; recently, she fell as a result of these problems. Her past medical history includes osteoarthritis, osteopenia, hypertension, congestive heart failure, persistent pain following herpes zoster, and stress incontinence. Mrs. Borodin has brought in a bag containing all her medications, which include cimetidine, acetaminophen with codeine (Tylenol #2), oxybutynin, digoxin, atenolol, alprazolam, zolpidem (Ambien), and naproxen. In addition, she takes an over-the-counter (OTC) multivitamin and melatonin. Dr. Lee has asked you to make sure that Mrs. Borodin knows what each of the medications is for and when to take it. She also has asked you to review the drugs themselves to see if any of them could be causing her recent symptoms.
